about KAORU HYUGA

Born in Tokyo, Ms. Hyuga joined the Takarazuka, the only female opera company in Japan, and starred in numerous musical shows and reviews.

Since leaving the Takarazuka in 1992, she has expanded her talents into acting, actively appearing on TV programmes and stage performances.

Ms. Hyuga's stage performances include Ms. Hannigun in "Annie", Paula in "Good-bye, Girl", Audrey in "Little Shop of Horrors", Jaqueline in "La Cage aux folles", and Christmas Past and Mrs. Cratchet of "the Musical, Scrooge- Christmas Carol".

She has also developed a new theatrical field, dubbed the "one-person-musical," which is a collaboration of literature, music and theatre, supported by scriptwriter /director Ms. Yoko Yamazaki. She has performed "Tsuzumi Story", from her repertoire of one-person musicals, in Germany (1995) and France (1996). Notably, Ms. Hyuga's one-person-musical performance in 2000 won the Japanese Cultural Agency Art Festival. Award.

Tsuzumi Story LIST
A story of true love between a pair of young foxes. The husband fox, Shiranui, searches his beloved lost wife, Shirogane. Shiranui takes the form of a human in medieval Japan. Performed in Germany (1995) and in France (1996).
